Pros And Cons Of Red Wings Signing Ekblad (+)

It’s no secret that the Detroit Red Wings are going to be pursuing an experienced top-four NHL defender this summer during unrestricted free agency. There’s two names that would appear to be at the top of the team’s want list – Vladislav Gavrikov of the Los Angeles Kings and Aaron Ekblad of the Florida Panthers.

Word on the street is that Gavrikov is going to demand the same type of contract that teams will be dangling in front of the more accomplished Ekblad. That would be a 7-8 year deal with an AAV in the $6.9 million range.
