Another Hall of Fame Honor For Red Wings Magic Man
Datsyuk enshrined in Russian Hockey Hall of Fame

Another day, another hall of fame enshrinement for former Detroit Red Wings star Pavel Datsyuk.
Last November, the Magic Man was among those being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
“I’m still recognizing I’m there and it’s hard to believe,” Datsyuk said last summer. “Of course, I feel like I’m a lucky boy.”
Luck really had nothing to do with it. Datsyuk’s unique on-ice skills are what put him into the hall of fame class of player. And it happened for him again this week.

Datsyuk is now also enshrined in the Russian Hockey Hall of Fame.
Red Wings Datsyuk In Triple Gold Club
Datsyuk is a member of the so-called Triple Gold club. This is the group of players who’ve won a Stanley Cup, an Olympic hockey gold medal and an IIHF World Championship.
Datsyuk was a Stanley Cup champion with the Red Wings in 2001-02 and 2007-08. He won a world title with Russia in 2012 and would captain the Russian team to the gold medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games.
He also won a bronze medal at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. Datsyuk won two bronze medals at the world tourney – at Austria in 2005 and on home ice in Russia in 2016.
He was very reflective upon receiving his latest honor from the game.
“I want to thank my parents,” Datsyuk said during his induction speech. “You were always there and were my support, taught me to work, guided and believed in me, even when I made mistakes. You live in my heart.
“I also want to thank my family, who support me in everything. We have achieved a lot together. You are my source of strength. I love you.

“I would like to thank the coaches and mentors who have shaped my career. You have taught me not only discipline and game skills, but also the values of leadership, the strength of team unity. Each has played a role in my growth as a player and as a person.
“And of course, thanks to my teammates. Hockey is a team sport. I wouldn’t be standing here without each of my teammates. We shared unforgettable moments together. I was lucky to play with the greatest athletes. I will always cherish our time together.”
