Detroit Red Wings
The Daily: Kreider Off Board, NHL Trade Talk, Toews Update

With the 2025 NHL Draft just two weeks away, the New York Rangers did some early housecleaning by moving veteran forward Chris Kreider to the Anaheim Ducks for prospect center Carey Terrance. The Rangers also picked up a third round pick, while the Ducks get back a fourth rounder.
Kreider has scored 20 or more goals 10 times in his career. Terrance is Ducks second-round pick who scored 20 goals this season for the Erie Otters.
Kreider had to waive a no-trade clause to go to the Ducks. Because the Red Wings are looking for a top six forward, Kreider was considered a possible Detroit target.

Red Wings In Case You Missed It
Former Detroit goalie Magnus Hellberg is going home to play in the Swedish Hockey League.
At least on paper, Sebastian Cossa and Michal Postava are competing to be Detroit’s No. 3 goalie. It’s possible the Red Wings will add another goalie with NHL experience. But if they don’t, the battle is on next fall.
CSKA Moscow acquired Dimitri Buchelnikov in the KHL. That likely means he’s not coming to North America this fall.
Red Wings Extra
Former Detroit player Jake Walman stayed out of the spotlight in Game 4, and had a significant impact for the Oilers in their overtime win. In 17:12 minutes of playing time, Walman scored a goal, and was plus-one with four hits and seven blocked shots. No other player in the game had more than four blocked shots. Former Red Wings player Troy Stecher was inserted for John Klingberg. Stecher played under five minutes and was minus-1.
