The Daily: Chicago Hosts Patrick Kane Day; See His Son Drop the Mitts

Patrick Kane, Detroit Red Wings

Chicago Hockey Now’s Greg Boysen writes that the City of Chicago declared Friday August 8 (8/8) to be Patrick Kane Day. He wears No. 88. Kane is clearly still loved in Chicago where he helped the Blackhawks win three Stanley Cup championships.

Chicago Alderman Brian Hopkins made the announcement during Kane’s inaugural community event at Johnny’s Icehouse West. Kane surprised players in attendance with brand-new Bauer helmets and gloves. He also handed out autographed pucks.

Another memorable moment was Kane’s son, Patrick III, and Alex DeBrincat’s equally adorable son Archie, getting involved in a hockey tussle. Would guess this was Patrick Kane and his buddy DeBrincat cooking this up for the fun of it. Kane and DeBrincat are linemates and close friends, and their boys hang out together at Red Wings games.
