Red Wings Are Making Their Points
Every Detroit skater (and both goalies) have a point this season
Ten games into the 2025-26 NHL season, the Detroit Red Wings are making their points, both in the standings and on the scoresheet.
At 7-3, the Wings are off to their best start since 2010-11, when they opened the campaign 7-2-1. Everyone is contributing.
“I think we’ve had a different hero every night, and every time we’ve won, it’s a different story,” Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin said on the team’s web page.

That isn’t merely hyperbole. It’s a fact.
Every single player on the Detroit roster has already collected a point this season. That includes the two goaltenders. Both Cam Talbot and John Gibson have an assist on their respective ledgers.
No Red Wings Player Is Pointless
Larkin is leading the way in the team scoring race. He’s atop the club with eight goals and 16 points. Forward Alex DeBrincat is next in line, also in double digits with 2-8-10 totals.
There are 13 Red Wings with at least three points on the season. A total of 16 skaters have netted at least one goal. Beyond Larkin and DeBrincat, other multiple goal scorers include rookie Emmitt Finne with four, Mason Appleton and Simon Edvinsson with three each, and Patrick Kane, Jonatan Berggren, JT Compher, and Lucas Raymond all with two goals apiece.

In the past two games, back-to-back wins over the St. Louis Blues, the Red Wings scored 11 goals. Those goals were scored by eight different players. Only Larkin, DeBrincat, and Edvinsson netted multiple goals.
“I thought we got a little more rhythm there,” Red Wings coach Todd McLellan said. “And all of a sudden those guys showed up on the scoresheet a little bit more.”
Detroit defensemen have already accounted for five goals this season. That would amount to an 82-game pace of 41 goals. Last season, the Red Wings got just 28 goals from the back end.
“The guys are all bought in to what we’re doing, and we’re having a lot of fun,” Larkin said.
Dylan Larkin is an All-Star. They better protect him. He goes down…. the season goes down. There’s a lot of Larkin haters , but he is the key to this team like it or not.
