Nets 498th NHL goal against his original NHL team in 4-0 Detroit win
There will always be a soft spot in the heart of Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane for Chicago.
For 16 seasons, 1,161 games, 446 goals, and 1225 points, the Windy City was Kane’s kind of town.
In fact, when he’s not wearing his skates, it remains the place that he calls home.
“I mean, listen, I’ve had some, some great years here in Chicago, and that’s my home in the summer,” Kane told FanDuel Sports Network Detroit following a 4-0 road win by the Red Wings over the Blackhawks on Saturday. “I love it.”

As much as Chicago brought him fame, glory, and success in the form of three Stanley Cup titles, as well as Art Ross, Conn Smythe, and Hart Trophies, today, it’s Hockeytown that holds the most prominent place in Kane’s heart.
“If we’re talking about where I like playing hockey right now, it’s Detroit,” Kane said. “I’ve really enjoyed it, my time, the whole organization, the fans, everyone in the city has been great to me in Detroit.
“So it’s been awesome being a Red Wing.”
Red Wings Keep On Rolling
At the moment, it’s very awesome being a Red Wing. Detroit completed a six-game road trip on Saturday with a 4-1-1 record.
In the outcome at Chicago’s United Center, it was Kane’s line that was the driver. He finished with a goal and an assist. Among Kane’s linemates, Alex DeBrincat scored twice and dished out an assist. Center Andrew Copp was also counting one assist.
“We played together last year, had a lot of chemistry,” Kane said. “I thought we really did well once Todd (McLellan) came in and started coaching and kind of letting us, you know, play our game and run a little bit.

“As long as we’re being defensively responsible, which I think we’ve been doing, being good defensively, producing offensively. And I think the good thing about all three of us is we’re not satisfied with where we’re at. I think we all believe we can be better, and we want to be better, too, so it’s fun playing with those guys.
“I think Copper’s done a great job of playing well in our defensive zone, driving the middle of the ice, making little plays, and being good with the puck. He’s been a real driving force for us.”
Copp, who had one goal all season before joining the line, shows 2-5-7 numbers from the road trip. Kane was 3-4-7 on the trip. And DeBrincat produced 5-4-9 numbers.
