Team Canada finally registered Detroit prospect Carter Bear (13th, 2025) at the World Junior Championship and he did what he could with a limited role in the team’s 9-1 win against Denmark.

Bear played a team-low six minutes and 32 seconds, and managed no points, but four shots on net. Only top Canadian players Michael Misa and Gavin McKenna had more shots than Bear.

Meanwhile, Red Wings rugged prospect Eddie Genborg (44th, 2025) generated two assists in Sweden’s 8-1 triumph over Germany.  He boasts three assists in three games. His plus-minus is plus-four.

Three Detroit prospects were involved in USA’s 6-5 win against Slovakia.  Michal Pradel (75th, 2025) was in goal for Slovakia, playing reasonably well (35 saves) for a goalie who gave up six goals. Slovakia’s Michal Svrcek (119th, 2025) scored in the game and had two shots on goal.

NCAA scoring leader Max Plante (47th, 2024) saw his ice time cut to 10:17 in this game. He had no points, and two shots on goal. He was minus-one.

Bear gets scratched twice, then plays only 6 minutes? Plante plays only 10? that doesn’t say much for those two. not even worth my time watching this.

RWHockey13

Are you assessing them based on that? Any clarification?

Charlie

Sorry, you didn’t get your way.
Happy Holidays!

Plante and Bear are playing exceptionally well. Not sure I understand his post.

Charlie

The other players are playing better, that’s why they’re getting less ice time.
NOT playing exceptionally well, actually. They’re fine

From Bear’s coach: “I thought he played really well tonight,” head coach Dale Hunter said postgame. “I thought he skated well, stuck to the systems, used his speed, got in on the puck a lot, was in front of the net and defensively he was good. And as a coach, we like the defensive side, too. He was all-around really good. You’ve got to be ready when you go in so that you can stay in. And he was.”

Really well – exceptionally well. What is with the argumentative spoil sports? Anyone on these teams are top 25 in their country. Good grief. Can you do better, Charlie?

Let me see what I can find about Plante.

Plante scored the first US goal and wears an A. Definitely a leader. Time dropped last game due to not returning from injury, unfortunately. While a -3, much of the team are minus most likely due to US ranking 7th in save pct. Goalies are getting hit hard, it seems. Would say also playing really well though not atop the scoring leader board and hope he can return from the injury. Coach did not have an update.
