Michal Postava is doing what he can to remind everyone that he was also playing at a high level before an injury put him on the shelf for seven weeks.

Postava, 23, made his first start since Nov. 9 and made 21 saves in the Grand Rapids Griffins’ 4-1 road win against the Chicago Wolves. The triumph raised the Griffins’ record to 28-1-1-1, which is the best start in the American Hockey League’s 90-year history.

The Grand Rapids’ 18-game points streak is now the second longest in the franchise history.

Postava’s effort raised his AHL record to 5-0 and lowered his GAA to 1.93 and improved his save percentage to .939. The Red Wings signed Postava last summer after a successful playoff run in the Czech Extra Liga. This fall, it was clear the Red Wings viewed Postava as being close to Sebastian Cossa or Trey Augustine in terms of NHL potential.

Eduards Tralmaks, also signed out the Czech League, scored his 14th goal for the Griffins this season. He’s another player who deserves a chance to see what he can do at the NHL level.

Red Wings In Case You Missed It

Coach Todd McLellan calls out Dylan Larkin’s line. Red Wings need more from No. 1 line. He moved Marco Kasper back on that line.

McLellan saw a team playing the way he wants his team to play, but it was the Pittsburgh Penguins, not the Detroit Red Wings.

Dylan James (40th, 2022) netted a hat trick to help No. 4-ranked North Dakota record a 6-1 win against Mercyhurst. He is only the third UMD player to score three goals in a game since 2018. The senior forward has 11 goals and 15 points in 20 games this season.
