Larkin Lifts Red Wings To 2-1 Overtime Victory
Dylan Larkin scored the game-winner in overtime as the Detroit Red Wings beat the Toronto Maple Leafs, 2-1 in overtime Wednesday night.
Larkin took a pass from Moritz Seiter, who had stolen the puck from Toronto’s Easton Cowan at the Toronto blue line. The score, at 3:08 of the overtime period, was Larkin’s 25th of the season.
The victory wrapped up a series sweep for the Red Wings, who won all four games between the teams this season.
Scott Laughton got Toronto on the board early, scoring at 4:46 of the first period.
Simon Edvinsson evened it by scoring with 217 seconds left in the period, with Larkin and Lucas Raymond getting assists.
It was the eighth overtime win of the season for the Red Wings.
