Detroit Red Wings
The Daily: Larkin Still Has Olympic Mojo; Flyers Sellers?
No Olympic hangover for Lucas Raymond, Moritz Seider and Dylan Larkin. At least not yet.
All three of them were sharp in the Detroit Red Wings’ 2-1 overtime win. Seider played almost 26 minutes, while Raymond contributed two assists and Larkin scored both Detroit goals.
This was a win of significance. They are back in second place in the Atlantic. Plus, the Red Wings are now seven points ahead of the Washington Capitals, the team that is just below the wildcard cut line. The Red Wings also have one game in hand over the Caps.

Larkin was particularly energetic (playing 23:11) against the Senators.
“He had a helluva game,” Detroit coach Todd McLellan said, noting that Larkin had a similar experience to last season when the Americans also went to the final game of the 4 Nations Face-off.
“I watched some of the other Olympians play (Wednesday),” McLellan said after the Ottawa game. “They were factors. Their nervous system, their legs, their thought process is all up and running at the highest level possible. So we’ll have to make sure Larks gets rest because it’ll be three or four games down the road where it’ll start to show up.”
Last season, after the 4 Nations Faceoff, Larkin registered three points in his first two games back and then four games without a point. Raymond, meanwhile, had four points in his first two games back and then went five games without a point.
Red Wings In Case You Missed It

The Red Wings want Vancouver defenseman Tyler Myers, but he doesn’t want them. He might have other options.

Red Wings Extra
If you look at Time on Ice for the Red Wings against Ottawa, it’s easy to understand why the Red Wings are pushing to trade for a top-four defenseman. In a 2-1 overtime division game, Moritz Seider played 25:48. Simon Edvinsson was at 23:46, Ben Chiarot played 23:44, Albert Johansson logged 17:43, Jacob Bernard-Docker at 16:49, and Axel Sandin-Pellikka was at 11:38. The Red Wings are quite pleased with his development and competitiveness this year. They clearly think they have something in Sandin-Pellikka. But it’s hard to trust his inexperienced defensive play in these important games. . . Detroit prospect Anton Johansson is back in the lineup for the first time since being decked by fellow Detroit prospect Eddie Genborg on Feb. 7. . . The Grand Rapids Griffins play the Iowa Wild tonight at home (7 p.m., ET)
