The Daily: Red Wings Draftee 4th in OHL Scoring Race; Boeser Would Fit With Habs
Detroit Red Wings prospect center Amadeus Lombardi (113th overall in 2022) is working hard to stay on course for an NHL career.
With six multiple-point games in the past 17 days, Flint Firebirds center Lombardi has moved into fourth in the Ontario Hockey League scoring race with 36 points in 27 games. That’s an average of 1.33 points per game.
Toronto Maple Leafs’ fifth-round pick Ty Voit is leading the OHL with 48 points, followed by undrafted Logan Morrison (37 points), Anaheim Ducks third-round draft pick Sasha Pastujov (36 points) and Lombardi are next. Pastujov is ahead of Lombardi because he has more goals (18 to Lombardi’s 14.).
Lombardi has five goals and 10 points in his past four games, dating to Thanksgiving. He’s a spunky, smart center who always seems to be where he is supposed to be.

Red Wings In Case You Missed It
Sebastian Cossa has a heavy workload this season playing for the Toledo Walleye.
The Red Wings have to take down struggling teams like the injury-plagued Columbus Blue Jackets. That’s how teams rise in the standings. The Red Wings did that Sunday night.
Coach Derek Lalonde’s Red Wings have found some success in playing back-to-back games. They are now 3-0 in the second game from those situations.
The Red Wings’ Next Game
The Red Wings (12-7-5) play the Tampa Bay Lightning (15-8-1) Tuesday in the second game of their four-game road trip. This is the first meeting tonight between the two teams since Derek Lalonde left the Lightning assistant coaching job to become Detroit’s head coach. Jeff Blashill went from Detroit’s head coach to Tampa Bay’s assistant coach.
