Can you imagine Timo Meier joining Buffalo’s offense? Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams must be imagining it because TSN’s Pierre LeBrun is reporting the Sabres have talked to the Sharks about Meier.

Meier, with 28 goals in 49 games, could make the Sabres the NHL’s No. 1 offensive team. They are currently tied with the Boston Bruins with a scoring average of 3.88 goals per game.

LeBrun said the Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes could also be possible trading partners for the Sharks.

Meanwhile, Boston Hockey Now is looking at whether a Ryan O’Reilly-to-Boston swap makes sense and Washington Hockey Now is trying to get to the bottom of the Anthony Mantha rumors.

And the Colorado Avalanche and San Jose Sharks got us warmed up for the March 3 NHL trade deadline by giving us a 2-for-2 swap on Wednesday. Evan Rawal writes that the Colorado Avalanche.  upgraded their depth with the deal.

Red Wings In Case You Missed It

Tyler Bertuzzi is on the Red Wings’ dads trip and he’s expected to play tonight against the Canadiens. He has missed the third period against, plus two more games because of a lower body injury.

Andrew Copp finally is getting a feel for his role on the Detroit Red Wings. He scored the OT winner Tuesday against the Sharks.

Red Wings seem to finally be centering on the idea that Michael Rasmussen plays his best hockey on the wing.
