Multiple reports say Canadian-born actor Ryan Reynolds is interested in buying the Ottawa Senators if the team is put up for sale.

Reynolds and television actor Rob McElhenney currently own the Welsh soccer team Wrexham FC. Their ownership has become the centerpiece of a Hulu television series called “Welcome to Wrexham” about the team.

Reynolds has been in enough blockbuster movies to have enough capital and financial connections to be involved in buying an NHL team. Sportico lists the Senators franchise as being worth $635 million. Reynolds probably would need at least one deep pockets investor to become a serious bidder.

The Senators are an enticing product because of their collection of young talent. People Magazine originally reported Reynolds’ interest.
