With four days remaining before the NHL trade deadline, trade talk seems to be picking up in the Eastern Conference:

Boston: Jimmy Murphy explores whether the Boston Bruins could end up trading Linus Ullmark to Los Angeles. The Bruins have two quality goalies and the Kings desperately need a goalie.

Pittsburgh: Elliotte Friedman reported the Pittsburgh Penguins are looking for prospects, not draft picks, in exchange for Jake Guentzel before Friday’s NHL trade deadline. ESPN’s Emily Kaplan said the Penguins want a whopping return for Guentzel. Bryan Rust has a no-trade clause and the Penguins are not going to deal him.

Tampa Bay: The Lightning are considered one of the favorites to land Noah Hanifin, but the other Eastern teams still interested in landing the two-way defenseman.

Red Wings Next Game

Coach Derek Lalonde’s Detroit squad will play four road games in six nights starting Wednesday in Colorado. The Red Wings will be in Arizona for a game Friday night, and then play the Golden Knights in Las Vegas on Saturday.  They wrap up the trip with a game, Tuesday, March 12 in Buffalo.

Chicago: Nate Brown writes that the Chicago Blackhawks management has to find a way to have less losing next season. Too many losses can stunt development.

Florida: Tonight’s game between the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers could be a preview of the Eastern Conference Final. These two teams have some similar traits. They score about the same and they are relying plenty on defense and goaltending.

Nashville: Cody Glass became the 29th player in franchise history to record a hat trick. The Nashville Predators keep winning. You probably didn’t see either of those occurrences coming.
