It’s 238,900 miles from the earth to the moon. And it seems like that’s how far the Detroit Red Wings are from making the NHL playoffs. There’s a long way to go. That’s the message we hear coming out of the Detroit Red Wings.

General manager Steve Yzerman aggressively acquired players this summer with the hope of improving his roster. But he made no promises about the playoffs.
