Red Wings Pick Savage Excited for Detroit Debut (+)

There’s one facet of his transfer from Miami (Ohio) to Michigan State that Detroit Red Wings prospect Red Savage is finding particularly enjoyable. It’s brought him much closer to what he hopes will one day be his NHL home.

“It’s pretty cool, especially being only an hour and a half away from here,” Savage said. “Being able to come in and do things like this, come see games throughout the year, it’s something I wasn’t able to do in the past.”

Things like this will soon be including his first game on the main ice surface at Little Caesars Arena. On Saturday, Michigan takes on Savage, fellow Red Wings draftee Trey Augustine (41st, 2023) and the Spartans there in the annual Duel In The D.
