Yzerman offers his explanation of the Yzerplan
It started from the moment he was hired as the new general manager of the Detroit Red Wings. Firstly, Steve Yzerman was attempting to return the franchise to the glory days that were commonplace while he was captain of the club. Secondly, the fanbase was granting this attempt a unique handle.

And yes, in case you were wondering Red Wings fans, Yzerman has heard that you’re referring to his rebuild of the team as the Yzerplan. As a result, he was acknowledging this recently while an intermission guest on an NHL on TNT broadcast.
Stevie Y was even offering his simple assessment on what the Yzerplan is all about.
“Honestly, the plan is find good players,” Yzerman explained. “It’s as simple as that.
“That’s the plan.”
