Don't rule out the Pittsburgh Penguins touching up their blue line before the trade deadline. There's a lot of chatter out there.

The countdown to the March 3 trade deadline has begun. It’s t-minus 14 days and counting. And teams are starting to analyze, second guess and finalize their trade deadline moves. The St. Louis Blues, for example, are doing some thinking.

Here’s what’s happening out there:

San Jose Hockey Now’s Sheng Peng takes a hard look about where the Sharks are at about the decision to trade Timo Meier. Remember, he’s not going to be a UFA this summer. He’s going to be a RFA.

Heavyweight TSN looked at the St. Louis Blues situation and concluded they may be willing to trade defensemen. That could mean Colton Parayko and Nick Leddy. The Blues are also expected to move Ryan O’Reilly and some role players.
