Red Wings celebrate
The Red Wings are 8-1-2 on home ice since the calendar turned to 2024.

The new year has brought plenty of good into the realm of the Detroit Red Wings. Among those positive developments is that they have turned Little Caesars Arena into a fortress.

Since Jan. 1, the Red Wings are 8-1-2 on home ice. They’ve won four in a row and have points in seven consecutive home games (6-0-1).

“I just think it’s our focus,” Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde said of their home-ice success. “We talk about being good at home. Any team that wants to stay above that line, be in that battle late in the season, you gotta win your home games. We’ve always put an emphasis on it.”
