If you’ve been Jonesing to see some Detroit Red Wings players back on the ice, here’s your chance to do so. In the process, you’re also going to be helping out Ottawa Senators assistant coach Bob Jones.

Jones, a 1989 Red Wings draft choice, was recently diagnosed with ALS. A former Windsor Spitfires coach, the team is holding a charity hockey game as a fundraiser to help defray some of the medical costs he’ll facing. Dubbed All In 4 ALS, the Aug. 12 game at Windsor’s WFCU Centre will be featuring a half dozen Detroit players in action.

Captain Dylan Larkin is headlining the list of Red Wings participants. He’ll be joined on the ice by forwards Michael Rasmussen, Andrew Copp and Robby Fabbri and defenseman Jake Walman. As well, it’ll be the first chance to see Alex DeBrincat in action since his acquisition from Ottawa by Detroit. DeBrincat played for Jones last season in Ottawa.

Senators captain Brady Tkachuk is also skating in the game. Among the other NHLers taking part are Mikhail Sergachev (Tampa Bay Lightning), Scott Laughton (Philadelphia Flyers), Taylor Hall (Chicago Blackhawks), Cam Fowler (Anaheim Ducks), Gabriel Vilardi (Winnipeg Jets), Dylan DeMelo (Winnipeg Jets), Adam Henrique (Anaheim Ducks), Wyatt Johnston (Dallas Stars), Jack Campbell (Edmonton Oilers) and reigning Calder Trophy winner Matty Beniers (Seattle Kraken).
