The Daily: Babcock Fallout in Columbus; Habs Still Dealing

Published

on

Mike Babcock is gone in Columbus. But there could be more fallout from the Babcock messiness still to come.

Captain Boone Jenner and veteran Johnny Gaudreau stood up for Babcock before the investigation into Babcock for looking at players’ cell phones began. Babcock eventually resigned. How will the Jenner support play in the Blue Jackets’ dressing room? Plus, Columbus ownership has to be questioning the original decision to hire Babcock.

Clearly, the Blue Jackets are embarrassed by the situation as they head into training camp. Also, new coach Pascal Vincent has work to do to make sure there are no lingering issues in the dressing room.

Elliotte Friedman addresses all of those issues in his 32 Thoughts column this week.
