Former Detroit Red Wings goalie Dominik Hasek has long been a critic of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Now, another NHLer is adding his voice to this subject, calling out Russian aggression in Ukraine. The difference this time is that it’s a Russian NHLer.

Calgary Flames defenseman Nikita Zadorov was critical of his homeland’s action to invade their neighboring country.

“There are a lot of people in Russia who have the same view of the war as I do,” Zadorov told Yuri Dud in an interview on YouTube.

Zadorov recognizes that criticizing the government of Russian leader Vladimir Putin probably isn’t going to go well for him.

“I am very well aware of the consequences that may await me now,” Zadorov said. “I probably won’t be able to go back to my native country where I grew up. To the city where I grew up. And I’m ready for it.”
